“SmackDown Live Results”

We’re eleven days away from WWE’s, “Last Stop to Before WrestleMania.” Fastlane! Let’s get right into it shall we? On last nights SD Live we were seconds away from Kofi Kingston signing his contract to wrestle the SD Champion Daniel Bryan at Fastlane. All of a sudden we here Vince McMahon’s music, “No Chance in Hell!” All I was thinking was, “I guess Kofi will have No Chance in Hell in wrestling Daniel Bryan at Fastlane!”

Vince McMahon praises all of Kofi’s accomplishments in the eleven years that he’s been with the WWE. Once Vince said, “however” the fans rightfully so, booed almost immediately, because everyone in the building including myself watching at home, knew there was about to be a, “swerve!” Vince continued by telling the fans that he wants to give them the biggest box office there is. The best competition. And the next words that uttered out of Vinnie-Mac’s mouth, even took “Yours Truly” by surprise.

“I am replacing Kofi with a man who is more deserving, more qualified.” Vince then introduced Bryan’s new challenger for Fastlane. Out comes a returning Kevin Owens! Kevin Owens was off programming since October of 2018, due to having double knee surgery. The New Day was visibly pissed off at the turn of events.

With Vince McMahon’s introduction, Kevin Owens now makes his way down ringside and enters the ring to sit down face to face with the SD Champion Daniel Bryan. Owens hasn’t been on TV since October of 2018. Owens had double knee surgery while off TV. As both competitors stare each other down, Owens signs on the dotted line and we now have the “official” Heavyweight Title Match at Fastlane. Owens vs. Bryan. We then go to commercial.

Back from the commercial, Kevin Owens is shown backstage talking to Shane & Stephanie McMahon. Owens says that he knows neither Shane or Stephanie were involved what had just happened. Both Shane and Stephanie did ask Owens how long he knew. Owens then says that he wants to tag with Kofi tonight against Bryan and Rowan. Shane and Stephanie advised that they would take it under consideration.

The Bar vs. The Hardy Boys

They show The Bar already in the ring waiting on their opponents. Supposedly, The Bar were waiting for a tag team comprised of NXT Talents. All of a sudden The Hardy Boys music starts to play, and out comes Matt and Jeff Hardy back together again!

Return of The Hardy Boys!

Nice back and forth match between The Bar and The Hardy Boys. There were plenty of “delete” chants during the match. Jeff Hardy got the pinfall on Sheamus with a Swanton Bomb! The crowd let out a nice “pop” for the finisher and pin fall!

Jeff Hardy Delivers The Swanton Bomb on Sheamus for the 1-2-3 Win!

Still to come is Aleister Black and Ricochet vs. Rusev and Nakamura!

Backstage we see Aleister Black and Ricochet talking when Lana walks in. Lana doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about regarding the NXT call-ups. Lana then says that Ricochet is nothing special and of all things that Aleister Black is ordinary! Aside from Lana’a accent, I think she also lost her mind to make that “alleged” observation! Lana continued on insulting both men when Ricochet pointed out how they defeated the RAW tag team champions in a non-title match last night on RAW. Black closed the segment by guaranteeing Lana that tonight Rusev and Nakamura will fade to black tonight.

Lana is not impressed with either Ricochet or Aleister Black!

Back to the ring and we see the United States Champ R-Truth with Carmella. R-Truth is looking to follow in John Cena’s footsteps and issue an, “Open Challenge” for the US Title tonight on SD Live! We then go to commercial.

Back from the break the break and a 2019 Hall of Fame video package is shown of The Honky Tonk Man!

The Honky Tonk Man to be inducted this year into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2019!

Back to the ring. R-Truth is in the ring with Carmella cutting a promo and out comes Andrade with Zelina Vega. As Andrade approaches the ring, Rey Mysterio attacks Andrade from behind now making this a Triple Threat Match!

A lot of good back and forth action between all three competitors. At one point in the match R-Truth slams Andrade and calls for Cena’s, “Five Knuckle Shuffle.” Truth nails it and gets a two count! Truth then scoops Andrade and Vega jumps up on t erring apron only to have Carmella knock her off of it! Andrade then sends Mysterio into the ring post. Mysterio rebounds and flies into Andrade sending him into the ropes, setting up for the 619, but misses. Andrade hits Rey with a back elbow getting only a two count. Rey and Andrade continue exchanging blows to each other. Rey eventually hits the 619 on Andrade, but Truth immediately comes up from behind and rolls Rey up for the pin to retain the US Championship!

R-Truth with the roll up and win pinning Rey Mysterio!

Back from the break and out comes Charlotte Flair getting the hometown treatment! We see what happened the night before on RAW between Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch and Stephanie McMahon. Flair starts to talk about how Vince McMahon saved WrestleMania 35 by having her Main Event it against Ronda Rousey. The fans start a “Becky” chant. Flair asks the fans if they’re done yet. Once the crowd quiets down, Flair starts putting herself over and in the process takes shots at Becky and Ronda. Flair then explains that anything that’s ever asked of her to do, that she always delivers. Shortly after saying that, the fans start in with the “what” chants.

Flair finishes up her promo by saying that Becky and Ronda are scared of her and that she will be showing up on next weeks RAW so Vince McMahon can crown her the new Raw Women’s Champion, someone who deserves it. Your Queen! Flair end her promo with a classic “WOOOO!” There’s a mixed reaction from the crowd as her music hits.

Ricochet & Aleister Black vs. Rusev & Nakamura

Out fist is Aleister Black & then Ricochet. Both receive a good pop. From there we see a video package for Black History Month and then a commercial break.

Back from the break we see Rusev coming to the ring with Lana & Nakamura is out there too. Nakamura & Black start the match respectively. They both run the ropes & Nakamura tells Black to bring it. Black then ducks a kick & takes a seat on the apron taunting Nakamura. Black then tags in Ricochet and they start to double team Nakamura. Nakamura kicks out on a two count. Nakamura then takes out Ricochet’s knee & tags in Rusev. Rusev starts to stomp on Ricochet while he’s down on the mat.

Rusev then drops Ricochet with a right hand. Nakamura tags back in & they continue to double team Ricochet. Lana is looking on with pleasure. Nakamura continues laying knees into Ricochet and eventually tags Rusev back in. Rusev suplexes Ricochet for a two count. Ricochet finally mounts a slight comeback enough to tag in Black. Nakamura also tags into the match and now the two start to go at it. Black gets the upper hand on Nakamura as the fans start to chant. Rusev then interferes, assisting Nakamura in being able to send Black out of the ring. Rusev tags back in and attacks Black on the floor. Rusev is now standing over Black as we go to a commercial.

Back from the break and Rusev is still in control over Black as Lana provides interference. As Ricochet is waiting for a tag, Rusev hits a big kick to the back of the head. Rusev continues to taunt Black by kicking his hands. Black attempts a comeback but gets kicked into the corner by Rusev for his troubles. Rusev then picks up Black and slaps on a bear hug.

Black attempts to fight back but Rusev drops him to the mat. Rusev then picks up Black but Black counters the move and falls on top of Rusev. Ricochet tags in and nails Rusev while he’s in the air. Ricochet then knocks Nakamura off the ring apron. Ricochet then nails Rusev with an uppercut and a standing moonsault for a two count as Lana is now screaming at Rusev to kick out. Ricochet goes to the top rope but lands on his feet due to Rusev moving out of the way. Rusev then goes for his Machka Kick but misses Ricochet. Rusev then nails Ricochet with a side-slam for only a two count.

Thinking that he has the match won, Rusev yells out, “Goodnight Rookies!” Rusev then stomps Ricochet and attempts to set up for the Accolade, but Ricochet avoids it. Nakamura then comes in for some double teaming on Ricochet. Ricochet then nails Nakamura with an elbow and sends Rusev over the top to the floor. Black tags in and pulls down the rope allowing Ricochet to fly out to take Rusev down outside the ring. Black and Nakamura are now going at it one on one. Nakamura is now waiting to hit Black with the Kinshasa, but Black hits the Black Mass as he charges Nakamura. Black covers Nakamura for the pin and win.

Aleister Black hits The Black Mass on Nakamura for the pin & win!

We now see Kayla Braxton backstage with AJ Styles. Styles starts of by saying that he’s happy to hear that Roman is in remission. Kayla brings up how Styles has been the cornerstone of SmackDown for years now. Styles then describes himself from a ferocious pitbull to a family man. Braxton continues by telling Styles that people are saying that he is currently in a slump for the first time in his career. Styles admits that lately he hasn’t been himself. He then goes on about setting his own standards and how they push him to be the best. Styles says as of late he hasn’t been himself and feels he’s part of the blame for Daniel Bryan’s recent rise to the top. AJ admits that he had the chance to stop Bryan from being WWE Champion but did not succeed. AJ continues by saying that doesn’t mean he won’t stop trying. It took him 15 years to get to the WWE and he’s never given up on anything. He refuses to listen to the critics and will pick himself up and will dust himself off and will fight the next challenger and will keep fighting to justify his claim that this is the house that he built. Randy Orton now appears and asks, “The house that AJ what?” Orton then walks off as AJ looks on.

Back from the break and now Bryan & Rowan have made their entrance.  Owens is also now out. Kofi starts the match with Bryan but Rowan then tags in to start the match. Rowan overpowers Kofi sending him down to the mat. As Bryan applauds Rowans efforts Kofi tries a second time but gets slammed for his troubles. Rowan then misses in the corner and Kofi unloads with a series of kicks. Owens then tags himself into the match. You can sense the tension already starting to build between Kofi & Owens.
